DESCRIPTION:Engineering Mentors Needed\n\n\n\n\n\nTime: 15 – 25 hours (average of 1-2 hours/week)Where: A Middle School in Las Vegas \n\n\n\nWe have mentor opportunities available throughout the valley\, as well as virtually.    \n\n\n\nWho can be a mentor?  Engineers\, technicians\, urban planners\, project managers\, architects\, undergrad or graduate students studying in a related field. A background check is required and can be reimbursed. \n\n\n\nMentors work alongside the educator and act as a coach and role model\, share real-life STEAM experiences\, offer technical guidance\, and help translate academic concepts to the real world of engineering and city design.   \n\n\n\nThe winning team (3 students\, teacher\, and mentor) from Las Vegas can win a trip to Washington\, DC. \n\n\n\nThe theme for this year is “Farm to Table.” Design a city that eliminates food waste from farm to table and keeps your citizens healthy and safe. \n\n\n\nPDHs available for mentoring. \n\n\n\nMentor signup – https://futurecity.org/mentor-registration/ \n\n\n\nFor more information about the program\, check out: https://futurecity.org/
