NCEES 16-Hour Structural Engineering Exam Offered in Reno, Nevada

The NCEES 16-hour Structural Engineering Exam will be the only professional engineering exam offered in pencil-and paper format beginning with the April 2022 exam administration.  The exam will continue to be offered twice a year, April and October, but will only be offered in a limited number of locations.  In Nevada, the only exam location currently offered by NCEES is in Reno.  

NCEES will open registration for the Structural Engineering exam December 13, 2021, and close registration February 24, 2022, at 3:00 pm EST. 

If you select Nevada as the state you are registering to take the exam, no approval is needed from Nevada, and you can take the exam at a location of your choice.  For exam locations, please go to:  https://ncees.org/april-2022-pe-structural-exam-administration/. 

Unlike many states, you do not need to be a resident of Nevada to select Nevada as the state you are registering to take the exam (you are not required to seek licensure in Nevada) and are not required to obtain pre-approval.  When you register with NCEES to take the exam, select Nevada and then select a convenient exam location, including any exam site outside of Nevada.
